Stats SA P91152023Service reference year · as at 30 June
Municipal consumer units, not resident access. Served counts combine domestic and non-domestic administrative/billing units; free basic counts are domestic units. These figures do not establish household access, service reliability or quality.
The 2023 publication pairs 2022 revised figures with 2023 preliminary figures. These are two reference years, not a continuous annual time series.
Provider responsibility and consumer counts are separate source fields. Where a false municipal provider flag accompanies positive served counts, both are retained; the source tables do not identify an alternative provider.
